Whitman’s v. PET

Whitman’s KC bought the Whitman’s candy line from PET. After the sale, PET breached its contractual responsibilities by leaving old candy on retailer shelves. Unsuspecting customers bought the candy and the Whitman’s brand was damaged as a result. After a jury trial, Whitman’s received a multi-million dollar verdict for loss of customer goodwill and related damage to registered trademarks.
